First Light longbows
« on: November 16, 2007, 02:43:00 AM »
Has anyone out there tried and/or have an opinion regarding First Light bows? The pictures on their website display a very nice looking bow at what seems a very reasonable price, something that fits my own rather thin wallet, but I am fairly new to archery and a bit unsure of something I haven't had the opportunity to try myself. Any opinions?

I was really hoping someone would've replied to you on this cuz I'd like to know what other people think too. I bought a used one (my first longbow) because the price was right and it was the right "size" for me. I'm still very new at this so I don't have much of an opinion about how it really performs. I have shot a couple other bows though. A Centaur double carbon.....extremely smooth!! but I felt it was possibly too light. I wasn't very steady with it. A Striker that I had similar issues with but it wasn't quite as smooth as the double carbon. And my FirstLight. I like it. It's not as quiet as the other 2 but I haven't played around with whiskers and brace height yet. I may be able to make improvements.....Don't get me wrong...It's still a very nice shooting bow! And I'm steadier with it because it's a couple inches longer (62" vs 58 & 60), and it's a little heavier.
It looks nice and shoots nice. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.
