Wild game recipes for Rabbits
« on: October 20, 2012, 06:24:00 AM »
Last night I decided to cook Sandra dinner from a fresh rabbit kill. I went out on our property and gathered some wild onions to cook with the rabbit. I soaked the rabbit in buttermilk, rolled it in flour added salt and pepper and cooked on a medium temperature. Just as the rabbit was about done I added the wild onions and a shot of red wine to the skillet. I also fixed mashed potatoes, gravy and field peas with some big ole fist sized buscuits. We washed it all down with some chilled Lambrusco, And afterwards I even did the dishes. She asked me if I was going hunting again this weekend and to please bring home another rabbit or two. Note to self: Do the dishes more often. It was a romantic night for sure! What are some of yalls favorite wild game recipes for rabbits? I would like to copy and paste them as I'm just now learning to cook. She has always done the cooking. Thanks...Dave

That's some good eating right there! Go to the main forums page on this site and there's a whole forum dedicated to recipes and grilling and smoking.
