As a veteran of many trips to both places I can offer some thoughts. Lori always goes with me, but of course she hardly qualifies as a non-hunter! Of course, both are huge places and it depends a lot on your destination and agenda. In the Bush, African accomdations and food tend to be first rate, any anyone with any interest at all in nature and wildlife should never get bored. On the other hand, with a few exceptions, cities in Africa aren't much fun, and touring on your own there is best reserved for experienced international travelers. On the other hand, many parts of Australia, particularly the long Queensland coast between Brisbane and Cairns, are incredible -- as beautiful as Hawaii, with much cheaper prices and far fewer people. I can think of a couple of super Australian hunting destinations that a non-hunting spouse would likely enjoy for a week because of great accomodations and scenic beauty -- feel free to get back to me if you want specifics. Before or after your hunt, I'd rent a car, drive the coast meet some great people, dine on fabulous seafood, enjoy the beaches, fish, whatever, all for very reasonable cost. I've done the same in Africa... but I was looking over my shoulder all the time. Note: you will have to learn to drive on the "wrong" side of the road in both places. Don
