New Camo Pattern( backland addrenalin)
« on: November 29, 2007, 06:48:00 PM »
Just received a new heater body suit. New and improved. I ordered the new suit in Backland Adrenalin. You can view the pattern at  www.backlandoutdoors.com  The camo pattern is digitalized. Its kind of busy looking. It would do well in late season in an oak with the dead leaves still on. From an open woods standpoint, I don't think it has enough grey. They do have the suit in skyline apparition. I was wondering if I should return it for a different pattern.

Does anyone have experience with this pattern?

Looks kinda like a mossy oak type camo.  I'd say return it.  I'm starting to fade away from the black blob mossy oak type stuff.

My favorite pattern is predator. Wish it was offered.

Has anybody ever used skyline patterns?

Is it still possible to come up with new patterns, for pete's sake?  The holy grail of concealment, is stillness, not patterns.  Just pick one that suits you.  I like flannel checks.

While a side of me agrees with George, I also must confess to being a camo junkie over the years (though that's waning now).

But I still think Backland's best pattern--by far--is the All-Terrain (originally called Rockoflauge I think).  This pattern is light enough to work in many different grassland environs, yet also has the shapes that melt into the fall woods.

Problem is that many of the best patterns--and that would include Backland All-Terrain, Skyline Apparition, Ultimate and the original Skyline, and much of the Predator line--are hard to find or no longer made.  One of those is the old green/tan/brown woodland pattern that I always called Fred Bear camo.  It had enough light stuff in it that it didn't blob out.
