Nothing to feel bad about, He set his price. I just wish I would have seen it first. Actually I was looking for a 63 I couldn't find, and there you where.

I was just kidding, you know me! I've been very lucky on a couple of these deals. I'm pretty sure I've contracted lacquer thinner poisoning from all the scrubbing with a soaked rag!! LOL Just think of the years I've added to your life with my timely purchase!!! Cameron

Congrats, you got a great deal on your '62 Kodiak and it cleaned up really nice. You gotta love that dark grained rosewood.  Your bow is the first "62 K. I've seen with a leather grip as well. How does it shoot?

Chuck, it's among the top two or three of all my Bear bows, as far as being a shooter. Very smooth and stack free right out to my 29.5" draw. I figure I'm pulling about 60# with it. Fires a 2018 or Micro Flite #8 with accurate authority!! CKruse

The 1962 Kodiak is one of Bear's best shooting bows. The longer riser compared to the covetted '59s and '60 Kodiaks is more forgiving. The limbs aren't as prone to twisting or stressors compared to the earlier models. Your's is a great draw weight to boot, nice score. These old Kodiaks were meant to be bent!

Just a little update on this old bow. I received a picture of Angie and Charlie Hocknell from the fellow I bought the bow from. Charlie was the original owner of the bow. Pretty neat old photo. I'll be sending the bow to Bowdoc soon for a facelift. It will then begin it's second life as I plan to take a deer or two with it in the upcoming year. Take care, CKruse

Nothing like a little history to make a special bow even more special.I've got an old Bear Products Grumley bush bow and a wonderful 8X10 b&w photo of the original owner with a nice 8-pointer he shot with the bow. He's holding the bow in the photo.Plus a couple of old photos of him shooting it.Makes it all the more special.

I hear ya! I'm hoping the fellow that sent me this one might be able to find a pic or two of Charlie with the '62 Kodiak and maybe a critter or two. Thanks, CKruse

It is definately a Bear Grizzly Recurve. 58" and 60#. It is worth alot, as most were made in 45# and anything else is rare--congrats!!

I just brought this back up the other day to post the addendum. I did indeed identify the bow as a 1962 Kodiak very early on. No offense to anyone, just read back through to see the intent of the post. Thanks, CKruse
