The Super Kodiak was introduced mid year in 1967. The first year riser was all phenolic or High Compression material (HC as Bear called it.) In 68 and 69 it was featured with rosewood caps or "horns" on the phenolic riser. In 1970-on it was made of "Futurewood" or resin impregnated maple. This is a brief and incomplete progression of the Super K. There are others who frequent here who can certainly give a more detailed account. My favorite is the 68-69, due to the beauty and weight of the riser. The HC material added to the mass, while the rosewood was the icing on the cake. My knowledge of Bear bows is best between the years of 59-70. Before or after that, I have to do some looking or refer it to someone else!! CKruse
