Hi folks. I’ve been working on a replica Grumley deerslayer for myself. I’ve always wanted to go out and hunt with one, but even if I owned one I wouldn’t string it. For the most part I have things figured out but I’d like to build one as close to an original as I can.
So I wonder if anyone on here, that may own one, would be willing to share a few dimensions, or a few good photos with some type of reference. I’d like to get the depth of the handle, length of the fades/dips and maybe the amount of reflex that the bow had (not counting the recurves) originally. Even the widest point of the limbs would be nice.
Any info would help. I’ve searched the net and have come up with a few things that help but it seems that for the most part it’s hard to get any in-depth info on them. Anyway, thanks a lot.
