Black Hawk Rocketeer broadheads

Recently I purchaced an older Bear Kodiak Mag. Along with the bow came 7 cedar arrows with Black Hawk Rocketeer broadheads on them. I an very curious about their history. I have never heard of them. Does anyone have any info for me?

The Rocketeer Broadhead was introduced in 1958 by the Cravotta Brothers of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. They were sold as either a 2 blade or a 4 blade. To make a 2 blade you would take the head apart and reassemble it leaving the bleeder blade off. The Rocketeer was produced in 4 variations through it's life. The ferrule has 2 rings around it. By cutting the first ring off the ferrule the head would fit a 5/16 shaft, cut the second ring and the ferrule would fit a 9/32 shaft. If you left the thing alone then it fits an 11/32 shaft. the Rocketeers are not uncommon and not worth that much to collectors, 'cept one model! Do they eventually have a round cutout in their main blade, IN FRONT of the ferrule?! If so, I would like to trade for one. I don't speak of the rectangular vents alongside the plastic ferrule.

How did you know these were Rocketeers?

I don't actually have them yet. This was an e-bay purchase, this is what I am told. In the picture I have the cut outs appear to be rectangular in shape. I should have them soon, I will let you know.  Thanks.
