Another bear question
« on: May 19, 2007, 08:27:00 PM »
I just picked up a Bear Grizzly for my son.  It is 35 @ 28.

Please correct me if I am wrong

Flush Coin   Used until 1972

Brass Colored Coin  1963 to 1970

"K"  In the serial number started in 1970

The griz I have has brass colored coin that is flush.    It has a "K" in the beginning of the serial number.

So would it be safe to date this bow as a 1970 Model?

Please give me your opinions.

The coins are always a ballpark date. The factory hada bins of them and the employess often grabbed what they felt like grabbing.

Stabilizer insert? If memeory serves that started in 71.

From what you've given I'd guess a 70-71 and no insert would help nail it a little more.

The 1970 griz was a 56" bow. The 1971 and 1972 grizzlies were shedua one piece riser with black glass, and 58".
