Howard Hill Longbow
« on: September 04, 2007, 08:59:00 PM »
I have a longbow I got from an (really old fart) who is a good friend. He says it was bought in the late 30's early 40's in minnisota. It is about 60" long and says only howard hill in script on the limb. If you can help email me and I will send some photos. Can anyone help me ID the bow, and let me know if it is worth anything? Also have a quiver and arrows he says came with the bow.Thanks

Holy squat! We would ALL love to see this!

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

At 60" long, it's hard to believe its a 30-40 vintage bow. Back then they where all 66-74" it seems

No guessing this time. I have measured the bow to be 68" long. I don't know how to post the pictures on the net, but I will email them to anyone who wants them. Thanks for the replies, CB

As luck would have it, 11 of the arrows in the quiver have broadheads, although not like any I
use. Also found a book from 1955, a finger glove and wrist guard. Also, I see there is a knife in
a sheath on the quiver.Another dozen of the arrows have
blunts, the ones in the wood rack I believe have field points, and there are several that are
painted but no nocks or fletching. My plan is to sell it. My boys and I hunt with compounds.
