Fred Bear Kodiak Magnum.........
« on: December 21, 2007, 08:53:00 PM »
Hey guys,  I have a friend who has a vintage Kodiak Magnum with original quiver and arrows that actually say "bear" on them, with razorheads.

He wants me to find out about it...when it was made, how much it is worth, where it was made, etc..

I have the bow, it has the serial number on it.  who knows about them or knows who does?

Thanks,

Brett

If the serial # starts with a number, then has a letter after it, then more numbers, it was made in the 60's. The first number will tell the year. IE 6U1364 means it's a 1966 model. That's all I know. Others will be along to help out I'm sure.

Most older Kodiak Mags are worth form about $100 to $200 or so depending on their condition. If there are stress lines in the limbs, if the limbs have any twist or if there are holes drilled in the riser they can be worth a lot less. Old Bear quivers sell for $20-$40 or so. Bear heads can be worth a lot if the are the really old ones. But if they are the vintage of the Kodiak Mag, they are not worth much, maybe a few dollars each.
If you can give a serial number, color description, a  guess could be made on age. If it is one of the green ones, it is from the 70's.
