1957. The catalog doesn't say what color the glass is. The 1958 kodiaks were white glass. I have one like yours, 64" and 75#.

i have a bad story to tell. I bought one of these on auction, was nice looking and when received it, I strung it, pulled it back, and BLAMO it broke into 3 pieces! I also havea 1958 which I shot quite a bit with no problems. I guess you never know. It depends a lot on how they were stored throughout the last 50 years. I've seen several people shoot these at trad shoots. Good luck if you buy it. If you get it and shoot it, post back and let us know how it shoots for ya.

MJB If you are looking for a shooter you might not want to spend a lot on that one. If it is double shelf it is a '56-single is a '57 and both have 'brown' glass.
That bow has little 'pits' in the finish around the silkscreen area-indicates imperfect glass. With frequent shooting they will become broken glass fibers over time, and look like little rice grains.
It is a problem if you intend to shoot it all the time-otherwise not.

Bjorn,
Thanks for the information. Interesting about the pits in the finish. Single shelf but I'm not hitting the trigger on this one.

It's stated limb twist, wall hanger ONLY. Wouldn't do me any good. Seen it and the color glass caught my eye.

Just something about them older Bear bows.

Jeff THANKS for your info also, greatly appreciated

THANKS
Mike
