Information on Bear Tartar
« on: October 17, 2020, 07:54:27 AM »
I was given a Bear Tartar. Does anyone know anything about them? Value? Is it shootable? What type of string/length?  Nock height?  Any information would be appreciated. I did notice some very fine lines in the limbs does that affect the bow?

The Tartar was basicly one of Bear's target bows. Like the Tamerlane, Patriot, etc.

Looks like a 1968... 62" (actual) string length... 8-8 1/2" Brace height and a 5/8" Nock height
Should get you started!  :archer2:

Value?? Really, whatever someone is willing to spend on a 50 year old bow??
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

Small vertical "stress cracks" like those, are not a problem.
Again, the bow is 50 years old...  String it up and shoot it!!
