Stemmler Jaguar Recurve

I picked this bow up for a song. 60" 45@28", I figure it is at least 17 years old due to the fact that they went out of business in 1991. The string has me confused, when I took it out of package, the strands had no twist, and the loops were served just like a compound cable, the knock serving had a double wrap so I didn't need to serve a knock on it, also it was 55 inches long instead of the standard 56 inches I was expecting. anyone know about the string?I'm pretty new at the trad aspect.
Thanks in advance
H
