Bear Cub - just curious

Went to a 3D shoot this weekend and picked up a nice Bear Cub (for the wife, of course)    

Serial# is 27K21

Can someone tell me mfr date?

The S/N has the form of a '62, Kevin. The catalog pictures a Cub with the S/N of 13K59. but a pic of your bow would help.

this is a 67...(i think) so is the cub a r/d longbow or is it still a recurve? I haven't had this one strung or seen it strung.

It's a recurve, with Grayling, Michigan on the logo....black glass back, white belly
Looks very similar to Drew's pic....sorry, I haven't figured out this photobucket thing yet

what's the nomenclature on Bear serial#'s?

"68" maple reads 8P8068,  
"62" zebrawood is 28CK94,  
another "62" maple that is 13AG68

1962 Cub had a leather wrapped handle and a black enamel coin. It was made of maple.  I would bet by the number on your Zebrawood Cub, that it's a 1964. The catalog listed "various" hardwoods and glass colors. The 1965 catalog picture is exactly like your Zebrawood, which also showed various wood and glass combos. If it were a 65 though, the number would start with a 5. CKruse

The owner of this Cub said that it originally had a leather-wrapped handle (now replaced with a rubber roll-on)....and it has the black coin, maple handle.

Thanks for the help guys...I'm goin' w/ '62 based on the info.  I really bought this as a shooter for the wife, was just curious, in case someone asks I can sound like I know what I've got....

Here's mine:
Bearbowman on tradgang told me that it was a 67 I believe, some type of prototype bow. He said that it wasn't a cub. It was a while ago that I asked him. The man knows his Bear bows. Send him a pic and he'll give you more info than you could imagine.Serial # SD452 Brian

Alright I dug out the other Cub that I know is a "62", it has dated paper work in it. So its a 68 maple,64 zebra and a 62 maple for comparison. The bottom limb in the last pic is the "62".
