Bear Tigercat
« on: August 04, 2008, 09:30:00 PM »
I recently picked up a '66 Bear Tigercat at a local flea market. 62", 44#, green and ivory glass. Riser appears to be rosewood. A couple of chips smaller than a pin head, but otherwise no scratches, dents, holes, or even a hint of stress-cracks. The best part was the price tag: $12.00 !! It is really a pretty nice shooting bow. I have several older Bears - Kmags and Hunters, but I am not very familiar with this model. Where did it fall in the Bear lineup and what years was it made? Thanks.
We are all here because we are not all there.

Bear tigercat, 1964 to 1978. They were 62", going to 58" in 1970. Great shooters with the 62" length. It was on the lower end as far as cost goes due to it being a bit plain without the overlays. Usually made of random wood with randon glass colors. I have seen some nice ones made with zebrawood. I have a 51# tigercat that shoots great. Nice find.
