Tell me about the 67 Bear Super K
« on: August 27, 2008, 04:21:00 AM »
These black beauties have always intregued me. Are they good shooters? What problems are they prone to? What is a reasonable price for one?

Thanks,

Danny

After my 64" 53# 67.5 Super K blew up at full draw, I sold the rest of my Bear HC phenolic bows. I just never could bring myself to keep them. I've been tempted several times since, but I keep shying away from them. I know it can happen with any of them but for me it's once bitten twice shy! CKruse

I have a '68, and the only difference I can see is the rosewood caps instead of the phenolic caps.  Is there anything else differenct about htem.

The phenolic risers look great when they are shiney and new.  Once thsy start crazing they look like crap.

Don refinished a 67 1/2 for me a few years ago, and he made those stress lines vanish.

He would not tell me his secret, but I think he uses this expensive cream he gets from a plastic surgeon down in Tijuana.

When I called the owner to ask specific questions about the above bow, he noticed a crack in the riser and has discounted it to half his asking price of $300. He seems to be straight up guy and if bow can be repaired, a great deal.

Cam- I know you warned me too. But, I cant take it. I guess I want that really hot girl.

That one on leatherwell is gone I guess. Too bad because I want them all too. Especially the black beauty. I have a '68 and a '69, and I will hunt with them this fall.
