High Country Long Bows PBS 1992 INFO???
« on: September 21, 2008, 11:06:00 PM »
I picked up a longbow the other day.  I'll try to post pics tomorrow, but it is a straight longbow.  It says a couple things on it:

High Country Long Bows with an arrow beneath is on the top belly.

An arrowhead with PBS 1992 is on the lower belly.

Below the leather wrap is 61@28" 66" on one side and on the other it says:  Custom by Del Allen

Any info would be appreciated.

Here are some pictures . . .
Anybody know anything about the bow or bowyer?   I bought the bow in the Lansing, MI area.

I know nothing about the bowyer, but I am thinking it may be a prize for the 1992 Professional Bowhunter's Society meeting.  They have the arrowhead logo on their website.    PBS website

PBS holds a national banquet/get together weekend every even year in March. At these weekends they have a bowyers contest that many people enter. The bows they make are then auctioned off on Friday or Saturday night after dinner.

This looks like it could be one of those bows. If you called the PBS office (check their website) they might be able to get you some contact information for the bowyer.

Good luck,
