Friend of mine got this longbow for me.  There is a partial decal "Woodcraft Equipment Company" Independence MO. It is stamped FL 56..24

Anyone have any information on this?

Woodcraft made longbows in the 50's and 60's. I don't know if they became involved with York Archery which was in the same city. It is probably 56 pounds at 24 inches of draw. If drawn farther it may not handle the limb shock. I have seen quite a few of these old longbows and may still have a few around here someplace. I would not say it is rare by any means and may even still be a shooter. I have seen them with a layer of glass on the front also.

shoe - I just received a Woodcraft bow marked FJ 53 and stamped 30.
From what I see on the York Bow site this is a model and draw weigh.

But that is a guess on my part!
