the only thing bugging me about that 1956 55# kodiak is why is the shelf not painted dark brown. That must have been a later model as the most of the one's I've seen are painted brown around the shelf from the factory. That one does not look refinished...great bow in a super good draw weight........oh well time-ings not right for me to go after that one....bowdoc

Kinda looks like the limb tips have been redone in fiberglass to me.

Doc, I thought only the '55 and the very early '56 had the shelf painted?  I've seen a whole mess of '56 Kodiaks and Polars w/o the shelf painted.

Check out the 1956 that came up yesterday 64" 54# it's for sure 1956 cause it has silk screens....she's a painted shelf.....the 102.50 bow looks to have some kind of green paint looking something or another..maybe reflections ???? not sure. But may have been factory camo-removed.Explaining the no paint on the shelf..but the normal for 1955 & 1956 would have been to have been painted until around oct. of 1956 I believe, which was almost time for the release of the mighty 1957 Kodiak............bowdoc

Bowdoc,

Speaking strictly from a photography background, it is possible that the foliage from the tree that the the bow is leaning against could cause a greenish cast in the photos. It is very common with flash bouncing off colored walls and such, or light filtering through a colored object (like leaves), just a possibility.

I had that one on my watch list too   :D

I wouldn't mind having an early kodiak to go with my Kodiak Special.  Doubt I'll bid on it though (this time   :goldtooth:  )
