Deliverance ( the movie)
« on: December 11, 2008, 07:55:00 PM »
Just finished watching that classic movie, nothin better than an old movie with a Bear kodiak hunter and a takedown  in it and old Burt aiming for the heart....

Yeah you see the hunter more than the takedown. Too bad they broke it.

I was in a unique situation. I knew James Dickey and Owen jeffery who were both deeply involved in the making of this movie. James Dickey was a client of mine and when he learned I was an archer( and an English Major) he asked what I thought about the film. The book is much better, BTW. Dickey hated Reynolds- said he had to shoot the fish and that Reynolds was a pop-culture idiot. My opinion of Dickey isn't much better but I'll leave that out. This isn't an archery movie- its a movie wherein archery plays a role. Worthless for bowhunters.            Grant

So Doc, you have a pic of Burt hanging up, huh?

I got a pic of my hero, Herbert "Cowboy" Coward hanging up too:

Cowboy was a western stunt man (known for his falls from rocks and haylofts)  who worked with Burt in a few movies.  By the way, Burt got him this role.

Yeah, real scary.    :scared:

Burt also had a couple other peckerwood friends that he tried to get in the movie... but the warden would not let them out. :bigsmyl:
