Tape on quiver tip

I just spent a few brutal cold days whitetail hunting with the 1956 Kodiak I got last month. I used a Bear 4 arrow tape on quiver. I had some trouble with it wanting to flop around with a couple of different mounting methods I tried. I didn't want to tape directly onto the limbs.

Here's the tip:I finally took some cling wrap about 18" long, fold it over on it self a few times to get a 1" x 18" ribbon 4-6 layers thick. Do a couple of wraps around the limb then set the quiver on the wrap and stretch the wrap a bit around the brackets. Then do a few wraps of vinyl/plastic electricians tape. The quiver is solid, but easily removed with no marks.

That's a great idea Ron.  I've been using a piece of bicycle innertube rolled up on the limb and taping the brackets down to that.  My method is kind of a pain.

Good tip. I have been hunting with my 55 double shelf and a tape on. Had to bend the flanges to a close fit angle and use quite a bit of tape to keep it from cutting through the tape when shooting. I use cling wrap a lot around the shop and have it on hand to try this. Thanks

Ron, as far as quieting these four arrow tape ons, do you put shoe goo between the two pieces of the bottom bracket on this style quiver like you do on the 8 arrow.  

Not sure where the noise comes from. It may be the overlapping tin on the hood.   But mine is just noisy enough to irritate the h*** outta me.

I have not had to "GOO" a leather top yet, but it might be possible to get some noise there. You may also have a loose rivet in the hood- try cripping them a bit or may be use some rubber cement in the rivet as it can be removed easily.
The worst noise seems to be the unsupported arrow beyond the gripper flopping around and even smaking the limb. If a guy has a short draw it can be a definite aid with these quivers!

One of the ways I've taped on quivers without marring the bow finish is to start with a wrapped base of friction tape.  However, I wrap it with the sticky side out, facing away from the limb.  Pretty easy to do after you get it started.  It sticks to itself, and the stretch in the friction tape keeps the finished pad in place.  Then I lay the quiver arm(s) on the tape pad and tape over it, this time with the sticky side in, or toward the bow.  Has always made for a very solid, quiet mount.
