Another Clueless Seller

Sometimes I wonder if these people are really clueless or just think maybe they will get more for the older and thus more valuable "1953" bow?

When I wrote to inform him that his bow was actually a '66 Kodiak this was his response: "I wanted to post this information in the listing but since there are already bids on the bow I cannot revise the listing. This information is way beyond my knowledge of these bows. Hopefully bidders know what they are looking at. thanks"

Seems like it's knowingly fraud now to me! Since when can't you revise or make corrections?? You're only honestly affecting the top bidder.

Nice bow, but I don't see how he earned or should be keeping that feedback rating for very long.

Never mind....the info was posted anyway. I need some sleep. Double shifts and 59 Kodiaks not showing up in the mail make me CRANKY!!          :banghead:

Sorry for the rant!

If you watch E8ay long enough, you will go numb to all the "1953" Bear bows that get listed. I used to write to sellers that improperly listed Bear bows, however over the years I realize that life is too short to worry about it. Don't sweat the petty things....

I wondered about that crack as well.  And what's up with that thing carrying a $40 shipping charge!

The last time I shipped a bow it was a 3 pc takedown that went to Michigan.

The post office charged me right around 18 something close to that for the priority mail...the 1000 bucks insurance was added..I paid 8 bucks for bubble wrap, I had a box it would go in but if someone has to buy a box..tape, labels...I know it was 26 or 28 bucks without paying for a good carton.

I'm not saying 40 is justified, but I know it isn't ten bucks to ship a bow any more.

It costs me 10.93 to ship a small hunter knife and sheath with 300 bucks insurance and delivery ocnfirmation now, with free boxes from the PO.

A seller just sent me (I live in WA) a one piece 60" from New York and shipping was over $37.00.  Last week I got a 70" one piece from Oregon and the cost was $18.00.  Both bows traveled USPS priority mail.

Blackhawk,

There is a rule about total length, plus width plus height can't come up to a certain total measurement or there is an oversize fee.

I think it all depends on what clerk is standing at the counter whether you get slammed with that or not.

It makes no sense to me. They load the truck. If a box takes up a lot of length lengthwise, stand it against the wall and load next to it...but that isn't the way they see it so......

If its under 84 total inches there not to bad but can run say 40.00-ish with ins....when you get over 84" and heavy.I paid 54.00 with ins.to ship a target bow a while back. The buyer paid shipping but he about crapped his pants when I told him 54 and change. That added 54 bucks to the cost of his bow if you look at it that way...bd

I just recieved a '59 Kodiak, shipped USPS Priority Mail. The box was originally in a rectangular shape when shipped, however by the time it got to my front door in Alaska 3/4 of the box had been crushed into a triangular shape. One corner lengthwise almost completely flatten. I was nervous as hell opening it. Fortunately the bow had been wrapped in enough bubble-wrap and was positioned the box in such a way as it was not damaged. The shipper had written "Fragile" etc, all over the box.... the post office must think "fragile" is French for "smash me". All's well that ends well nonetheless. Still happy to see those little white trucks come up the driveway.
