Fred Bear camo Jacket
« on: February 12, 2009, 11:20:00 AM »
Hi guys,
I am looking to buy a camo jacket like old fred used to wear. I need an xl. If anybody has one they want to get rid of let me know.
P.S. If anybody knows of any other jacket along the same lines, that would work also.
Thanks
Jeff

JEFF

It would probably help if you could post a picture.

Jeff, most of the camouflage from that era was made by the KAMO company who also did military contracts. You might peruse some of the vintage clothing sites and locate something close, if not the exact item.

On another note, I didn't know I had relatives in Alaska! Seeing your last name and reading that you are a pilot that lives in AK, I'm pretty sure we're long lost cousins! Take care, CKruse  :bigsmyl:

Jeff,
That picture was my jacket.  I believe the pattern was called "Woodland".  Used a lot post war through the early 70s and then "Tiger Stripe" started showing up.

You can also try the Big auction site and do a search for WWII Camo

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the info. Still looking for that particular jacket.I need a size xLarge.
CKruse thats funny that you have the same last name. What does the C stand for. And yes I live up in Fairbanks, been up here since 1992.I am a pilot with my own float plane. I have been guiding fly fisherman down by Katmai  Park for the last five years. I am in the process of setting up an air taxi business, for flying Hunters out.
I know this sounds crazy,  but if anybody is interested in a fly-out moose or caribou hunt, I would be willing to trade , if some one could come up with an XL bear archery Jacket.
Thanks Jeff
