can this be fixed?
« on: February 23, 2009, 01:56:00 PM »
Hey guys I posted this in the powwow but was suggested to post here aswell since alot of guys that visit here know a bit about refinishing. Thanks Skippy

"I have a york ozark LH recurve 55# @ 28" that I won at the JLMBH this weekend. I was going to give it to my dad but when I got home found that the upper limb has a splinter in the glass that is lifting especially when strung. Can this be fixed??? Will a weight reduction help this??

Thats a kind of bad spot however you may try a couple drops of super glue.I use loctite 420.Make sure and let the super glue dry for 24 hrs to make sure it cures inside the splinter...bd

I responded to your post in the PowWow.

Since the splinter is lifted some when it's unstrung as well, you're best bet is some loctite, butcher paper, leather pads and a C-clamp.
