Decals
« on: March 19, 2009, 10:17:00 AM »
Folks,

I have successfully recreated Pearson Palomino and Damon Howatt (DH Bow) decals and have some ready for anyone needing some for a refinish.  I am also having some Pearson Pinto decals printed (great graphics work Simon!) and hope to have some of them ready in a week or two.  I have not worked out the cost yet but if anyone needs these type of decals please pm me.

Thanks
Dave

Glad I could be useful for once on this site.

Just a note on the Pinto Logo. I have seen different color combinaisons. On my 1962 Pinto, the logo is green and yellow like in the file I sent you. I have seen the same logo in black only also.

Yes, the decals I have had printed are on adhesive backed clear mylar/vinyl.  I found a print shop here in Fairbanks that can do white ink on clear mylar.  I am currently experimenting with putting them on clear wet slide mylar kind of like the old airplane model decals.  You soak them in warm water until the backing is loose then you slide the decal in place and let it dry.  I have done a few tests but I am not quite satisfied yet.  The advantage of this type of decal is that it is alot thinner than the adhesive backing but like I said, it is not ready for prime time yet.  Simon, I agree on the different colors for the Pinto logo, but it would not be hard to have a BW version printed.  I will keep you guys posted on the status of my experiments but in the mean time if you need some decals please let me know.
