Filling screw holes
« on: April 01, 2009, 12:44:00 AM »
Have 2 holes with inserts on the side of my Red Wing Hunter. Also have two in front for the Wing Quiver which I will use. Should I fill the holes on the side and if yes, what should I fill them with?
Thanks
sam

Sam on a nice bow like a Red Wing Hunter if it were me.I would go to harbor freight and buy a set of plug cutters for around 10 bucks. Then drill the holes in the RWH as clean and smooth edged as you can.Once the hole are straight and clean.Cut two plugs from some type matching wood.Tap the plugs into the wood(not to hard or they may split the riser) and add one drop of super glue around the edges of the plug after its tapped into the hole. Those will look way better then any wood fillers or puddy.bowdoc
