It won’t hurt the coin. Not in my single experience at least. I got the bolt glowing hot and left it on the coin for a good 3 minutes before attempting to pry it off with a needle. It poped right off with no effort.

I've removed the coin after reading Bowdoc's trick also.  It didn't work the first time I tried either, as I didn't get the bolt hot enough nor leave it on long enough.  I didn't get it red hot, but it was really hot, and I let it sit on the coin for at least 3 minutes also.

Didn't hurt anything except there was a little finish over the top of the coin that darkened and needed to be removed
