As Minuteman said, but they have to move as they are ungulates and have to get up and move around and transfer food thru their different stomachs and chew their cud, or else they would die. It depend on your definition of hot this time of year. Here in mid-NY anything above 60 would be hot this time of year and it would slow movement some. Shawn

I fimd temperature to be relative , if it's been in the 30"s and suddenly warms to 50 the deer slow down , but if it has been in the 70's and drops to 50 they will perk up . But most importantly as Shawn amd Minuteman said they have to eat , life goes on , just at a slower pace sometimes .

Worst case - you go hunting and don't see a deer. That still sounds better than *not* going hunting and not seeing a deer. :-)

My son got an elk December first and it was 6 degrees out. Its now warmed up to the thirties. If it was 80 tomorrow - I would go hunting

I find that i see more deer first thing in the morning when it is warm out. They seem to move after dark but are still at it in the AM.

Well up here it was close to -10 fahrenheit this morning. Saturday morning they are forecasting about 25 fahrenheit and then dropping back down again on Sunday. I'll definately be out Saturday morning as the deer should be enjoying the warm spell just as much as I will.
Heck if the temp hit 80 here tomorrow I'd be out by the pool with a tall cool one by my side.
