Toothpaste and baby wipes .....

I have been reading up on BD's how to thread. I have gotten brave enough to use some baby wipes and toothpaste on a couple of bows and the results are fantastic (sorry but no before and after pics) I am getting some acetone tomorrow to remove some tape residue and some wax. Did have one question: is there any way to "restore" the white part in front of the grips on a Kodiak? It isn't pure white like I see on others. Any suggestions? Thanks as always John

Acetone works great at removing stuff, the only problem is that it will remove the finish if you rub too hard. Try rubbing a little on the white overlay but take it slow. I usually use charcoal lighter fluid for cleaning gunk off of bows, it is milder than acetone. Good luck.

I use a product called Lift-Off.Home-Depot sells it.I used it to get the tape & gunk off my bows.I cleaned a Grumley that had tape from top to bottom & it did the job & left the finish intact.Also I've tried everything to clean up ragged out recurve bows & by far orange hand cleaner works better than anything else I've tried.

I've used Oven Cleaner on my boats for years. Just don't let it sit. Takes off tape and gunk, black marks, etc. Polish it up afterwards.

Acetone is a little hard on things. I've seen it tear up fiberglass at times.
