Got the 59 back from the Doc today and it is awesome. Anyone who has doubts about restoring a bow should see Doc's work. Absolutely stunning. The new coin from Kurt looks great also and Trap's feather rest is great as well. You all are great resources for doing projects like this. Hopefully we will be harvesting a whitetail with it this fall.

Steve I got the brass coin ready to return home however I just realized something when looking for the coin. When I replaced the coin with the one from Kurt the bows were all done so I had to remove the leather grip in order to respray the bow and spray over and seal the coin hole from moisture.
The leather grips do not look so good once removed and if you try and mask them off they look even worse around the edges. So I just replaced the new one with a new one.But there is about a 99% chance I did not put top cote finish on the new leather grip.I did not even think about it until I seen the other grip on my bench this morning.
If the grip looks like there is no finish coat on it ??? it should have kind of a light polished shoe shine look to the leather ???? You may want to rub a coat or two of Lexol or some kind of leather seal on the grip to prevent staining..bd
