Shot My 59 Today!
« on: May 16, 2009, 09:03:00 PM »
WoW! Shot my 59 Kodiak today, and now I see what all the hoopla is about. What a sweet shooting bow! The first few shots I thought it was all in my head, but no the proof is in where the arrows hit the target. Very smooth drawing, quiet, and seemed pretty quick.
The bow was sporting a feather rest from Trap, and a copper coin from Kurt. Excellent reproductions, Thanks Guys.      Scott

Nothing like them and it looks like you came up with a dandy Scott.

Some like the 60 Kodiak more but I like the grip on a 59 better.  I may have to slim the grip down on my 60 one of these days.

Enjoy, Trap

Yeah she looks pretty good in those pix after a couple coats of Johnson's, but definately needs refinshing. I thought I would stick a rest on and shoot it a while. They sure do feel good in the hand to me, but I've always been more of a Longbow shooter.              Scott

Yes Doug I definately plan on putting it to work. All I had been thinking about was the refinish, but I thought hey I better string this thing up and see if I can shoot it. I was shooting it very well from the first shot! Shooting some cedars I made up a couple years ago from raw shafts, just a little fine tuning and they will be flying like darts. I've got some Bear razor heads to mount on em, and I'll be ready to go. Our KY whitetail season will be here before you know it!(Sept.)   Scott

If I look around I might have a couple for Bear arrow's I can send your way. Need to get a spine tester and then I will know what I have. What about our turkey hunt next spring in Nebraska.

I took my "59" and "57" Turkey hunting today. I've only had the 59 for 3 months and every time I shoot it I feel the same way you do about it. I didn't see any Turkey's but I had some fun shooting both bows. And by the way if you don't already have one I'd reccommend picking up a 1957 Kodiak. So many bows so little money.

Santiam its definately a keeper, of course I had every intention of keeping that Hunter I traded to you. I wish the 59 was in as good of cond. as that Hunter! That is a sweet Hunter, if it had only been a little lighter on the #s.
