Holes/what to do with them?
« on: May 22, 2009, 01:00:00 PM »
I have my first vintage toy on the way.  Looks to be a 1964 zebrawood grizzly.  58' 48#
Looks new except the 2 small quiver holes someone added.  I plan for this to be my go-to deer hunting bow this fall so I'm not opposed to adding my quiver to the already existing holes, BUT......I don't want to commit any old bow sins from the start.  So, do I :
a. Leave them alone so they can be fixed at a later date as I learn more or have them fixed by someone who does.
b. Fill them.
c. Go ahead and add a quiver but Add an insert before adding quiver so I'm not screwing into the wood.

Thanks

Here is a link to an earlier post on what to do with holes in your riser.  http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=14;t=002473

KY Archer - actually it looks like choice "C" in the original post. So I do think it's an option.

Yeah your right Bill. I was just thinking about totally hiding the two holes in the riser overlays of my 66 Kodiak. They are uuugly.

I have a 72 SK. I am the orginal owner. During the bows life it acquired a "plunger" hole. I have a dowel in there now but wonder if there is a better way. I have considered having the bow restored but this hole would be an eyesore?
Any ideas? Thanks, Tom in San Diego
