LocTite 420

I'm posting this as a heads up for you guys that use LocTite 420.

About a month ago I ordered a 1oz. bottle online at the cheapest place I could find... cost me in the neighborhood of $35.

The LocTite was only $24, but with hazordous shipping they tacked on another $10.

When it arrived it had an invoice from Grainger (not who I'd ordered from). They had the stuff drop shipped.

Well, I looked up the address of my local Grainger store and found that it was only a few blocks from my favorite hardwood shop so I dropped by there today.

They had it in stock and I got it for $23 and change.

The kicker is the guy at the counter told me that it wasn't a Hazmat item, so I guess I got skinned for ten bucks.

I'm sure you could order direct from Grainger if you don't have a store close to where you live.

Thanks for the tip.  The last time I ordered it I had to get it from our local auto parts store and it also cost around $32.00, but it's some great stuff!

Thanks for the heads up Charlie yes the price can very from 16.00 a bottle at besco bareing company to as high as 35.00.Because of the small amount of loc tite I've never had to pay hazmat. The bottle contains to small of an amount to be hazmat.
Also Grainger does not store there 420 in the fridge like besco does.Once you have recieved the bottle and open it there is no need for storing it in the fridge. However until its been opened loc tite recommends cold storage.Great product.bd

Yes, it's considered a hazmat when shipped in bulk, which falls under class 9 ORM (other regulated materials), similar to cartons of bic lighters vs small quantities.
