« on: July 24, 2009, 02:35:00 PM »
Hello Guys, I was down at my granddad's house today when he handed me thses two old glass arrows.. I have never seen any made like this..
they don't have a name and or a size number. But they are 5/16 shaft's.. The only arrow that I have seen like this where the arrows made my Glenn St. Charles. But I don't remember the names of the arrows ?.. Any help would be great guys,

Thank's,

Cody

Cody,

Hard to tell for sure without a close up of the weave of the glass.

Olympic and Olympia were the glass shafts that Glenn St. Charles marketed. The ones I have are a brown gray pretty close to the color of yours. Glenn's were smoother surface than the brown Fleetwood or yellowish Microflites.

Herter's and Shakespeare also marketed sort of brown gray glass shafts. There may be others.

Fleetwood had a brown woven glass. There was a line starting at the tip and nock angled toward the center. These were a sheet of glass wrapped around a metal(?) manderal.

The Herter's glass arrows were made by Gordon Plastics as well as M J Logs.

Are the nocks made from a plastic material instead of metal/aluminum? I think what you may have are M J Log's tan colored fiberglass shafts that someone put on a brown stain.
