Bow designs, and wood use, really pushed the archery envelope with many of the top-end target recurves of the 1960s !
Bear Archery certainly participated in that trend, with the culmination of its efforts coming toward the end of the era with the HC-30 (left) and later HC-300 (right).
Both bows were considered state of the art from Bear in their day, and to own and shoot either of these models was almost a statement all on its own on the northern Wisconsin field and indoor ranges where I grew up.
The two in all of these photos are gorgeous wall-hangers from a long-gone era. The HC-30 is a Bear “Display” model. The HC-300 possesses, as I remember, a slightly twisted limb.
The funny thing is I’ve “sold” this pair twice, only to have the buyers back out both times because of sudden divorces. I dare anyone to offer to buy or trade for them now! The Divorce Twins.
