« on: August 05, 2009, 12:01:00 PM »
“Sports Illustrated” is one of the most popular magazines in the world.  It has over 3 million subscribers and is read by 23 million adults each week, including over 18 million men, 19% of the adult males in the United States. It was the first magazine with a circulation over one million to win the National Magazine Award for General Excellence twice.

The “SI” front cover photographs are among the most sought after media exposure on the planet, and are actively pursued by sports personalities and even entire sports.

Here’s today’s archery history quiz........Do you think that archery has ever appeared on the front cover of “Sports Illustrated?”

Lon - Nice cover.

Those who might be interested...

The 2007 book "Shooting Star: The Amazing Life of Ann Marston" by Alana Paluszewski, is about the Ann Marston's very short 32 year life and details her deep involvement in Archery.

The book cover features a small inset of her Sports Illustrated cover.

You guys are sharp!

Here's the actual 1955 magazine that Wade mentioned.

Notice a trend? Female, blond and pretty. Nothing wrong with that. But I suppose that does rule out all old collectors.

You also appear to need a white shooting glove.
