Another Rack of Bows
« on: October 20, 2009, 08:46:00 PM »
I made 2 new bow racks but I can see I need to build more. The second rack shown here filled up quickly. Top to Bottom:

1. 195? Bear Cub 45#@28"
2. Unknown string follow self bow (yard sale find)
3. 1957 Bear Polar 46#@28" The first bow I ever shot back in the 60"s, given to me by my uncle.
4. 195? Bear Alaskan 45#@28" double shelf black and orange glass.
5. The first of several longbows I've made
6. 1959 Original Kodiak  45#@28"
7. 59 Vintage Works Reproduction 48#@28"
8. 59 Vintage Works Reproduction 52#@28"
9. 197? Pearson Predator 48#@28"
10. 197? Pearson Predator 47#@28"
11. 196? Wing - Red Wing Hunter 50#@28" This was refinished years ago by Bow Doc. A real looker and excellent shooter. I've had several offers for this baby but it's not going anywhere.

Man, look at that "curve" in that Red Wing Hunter.  How's it shoot?

reddogge, the RW hunter is a surprisingly quick bow with a lot of pre-load on the draw, then smooth to my 27". This one is autographed by Bob Lee and one of his bowyers at the time, Buddy Stamper.

4runr, yeah the original 59 is in really nice shape too. The purpleheart and maple sight window reproductions are great shooting bows.
