old Ben Pearson movie find
« on: October 23, 2009, 12:32:00 PM »
I stopped by a little back woods bow shop yesterday to get a stamped dog collar tag and he had all his old VHS movies for sale.  Amongst the pile I found Legendary Hunts of Ben Pearson, which I'd never heard of before.  Not a bad movie, about like the old Fred Bear movies and this one is in the late 50's as well.  For it being a rental it's really clear, especially for the $2 it cost me.  I'll get it burned over to DVD and not use the VHS as much.  And Ben was quite the wing shot for sure!

And I browsed his rack of Jeffrey bows, which is unusual to see way out here in southern MO.

Carlos, maybe for a small fee, you could dupe us a DVD of that movie! You know, for posterity's sake! Good to see you on here again. I hope things are well in Springfield. I moved to County earlier this year, and I'm really enjoying it! CKruse

Did Ben Pearson drill a guys hat in camp.

Every time I see that scene I wonder how many guys come to the deer camp and upon arrival give out a "yahoo" and throw thier hat in the air.  Then I wonder how many bow hunters just happen to walking around camp with a loaded bow ready to shoot just in case someone gives out a "Yahoo" and throws their hat in the air

Good find.

Not only was Ol' Ben a great wing shooter, he was know to be one of the best at shooting moving targets.  I remember old films of him hitting deer and rabits on the run.  Possibly some of those scenes are in there too.

I agree with cameron that you should make multiple copies of the DVD and come up with a price for us.  I would take one.

I think once I burn it to DVD I can copy it pretty easy and quick.  Someone tell me, can I sell copies of it not to make a profit, but just for the sake of passing it along?  (I mean copyright stuff)

I watched an old movie back in the '80's of Ben that was shot probably in the early 60's. He was standing in a john boat and shooting ping pong balls out of the air that a guy standing in another john boat was tossing. One of the most amazing things.
