Any Old Howard Hill Longbows Out There?
« on: April 13, 2010, 06:54:00 PM »
I figured a few of you might have a old Howard Hill Longbow lying around. 1975 or earlier. or somewhere close to that. If so, what does the glass look like and if you can please post some pics.
I just picked one up myself and I will have somebody post some pics for me when they get a chance. Thanks

How old do you mean by old?  I have a 20yr old HH with black glass back and belly.

Craig has some good pictures in his book.

I have one built in 1964, 69", 72#@28" purchased from Ted Ekin.  Backing is black glass and belly is white. Probably made by Darling for Howard Hill Archery. The Hills moved back to Alabama soon after.

That sounds great Hud! I would love to see a picture of it.
I sent mine off for some repair work. It had a crack in between the bamboo lams.
Hopefully it will be shootable when It is returned to me.
If not she will look good on my wall next to my other Howard Hill stuff.
I plan on posting pics as soon as I get her back.
She has green glass on the back and a white/yellowish color belly.
I am thinking that Bob Stotler or Jim Darling made mine as well but I will never know.
There is no serial number on it and it is very narrow compared to the current Howard Hill bows.
