Bear Mag handles and struts...
« on: May 04, 2010, 08:50:00 AM »
I don't have the Bear catalog CD and searching didn't give me a definitive answer...

The bear mag TD didn't have struts before '76, right?  What about after '76... did they all have struts, or just some of them?

I just got a Mag B handle w/o struts and am curious about the age.  The limbs that came w/ it were 70# #1s from the 80's, but that doesn't mean anything.

Anyone know where to find a new 1R grip (or maybe a 2R)?  The one that's on it is the rubber-ish type and it seems to have been exposed to DEET... it's a little gummy and the paint on the riser is also (gotta love DEET).

Jeremy, the '75 catalog shows the strut present on the C mag; '76 thru '78 catalogs shows it on the B and C mags; None show it on the A mag.  I only have the hard plastic grips.  If you are interested in a RH #1 grip, I can ship you one. Just reimburse me $10 for priority mail with ins and delivery confirmation.    Also, does your B mag have the plastic bear button, which should be from late 72 and newer?  Let me know about the grip.  thanks

PM on the way about the grip shick!

There is no Bear button on this one, though I can see where one was.  It'll get dressed up with a new one when I refinish it (as I said, the paint is a little gummy)
