Hello Tradgangers,
After doing some research on here and kicking it around for a bit I decided to remove the factory camo paint on one of my K-Mags. The Paint was worn off in spots and was hinting at the two tone green future wood that I am pretty fond of.
I removed the paint using 100% pure acetone nail polish remove and a couple of old rags. (thanks bowdoc) the paint came right off. The original silkscreens were still in tact as was the original serial number and stats. I was kind of surprised to see that the before and after serial numbers were different. Anyone want to pip up on the year of this bow, that would be awesome.
Before/ Camo stats
KU66513
AMO-52"
60#
After/ Green stats
KU64270
AMO-52"
60X#
After the paint was gone I quiclkly noticed that there was some pitting/ dings on the front of the riser. After some wet sanding with 400 grit sandpaper and some elbow grease I had the riser feeling as smooth as a babies behind.
While this project isn't done yet, I think it has been a great start to my first real traditional bow project.
So....how does she look?

I like the greenies with the uneven dye. Great job! Sharp bow.
