Been putting together a nice browning collection to hand down to the son some day..The latest bow i was interested in has been stored in a gun cabinet sitting vertical... The bow is not local and would have to be shipped to me...........Should i steer clear because how it was stored...

Also..how much does the original box add to the value of a bow?

Lots of times bows will have a twisted limb from being stored standing up in a corner or in a gun cabinet. I received one yesterday that stored like that for twenty five or thirty years probably. Took less than a minute for me to straighten it back out. I wouldn't worry about it myself.

Before I knew better I stored my Bear TD Hunter that way for at least 10 yrs and it's fine.  I guess it could cause a little twist, but that's not really an issue either.

IMO, as long as the bow is bare,and most importantly, not strung, probrably ok, I have some displayed up right, not noticed any problems.I do leave my hunting bow strung for most of the hunting season though.
