Lost history

Just thinking about a patient of mine. An old country boy that loved to hunt...killed and elk and mule deer at 78.I went to his house and saw a 70's era recurve with twisted limbs on the wall( couldn't tell the bow or maker) with some ratty old aluminum arrows with pearson deadheads. He told me he killed a couple of deer with it. the house was bad...real bad ...and he died last week . Just thinking of the archery items and the stories behind  them that have been lost.....but not for this web site ...specifically this forum...that keeps much alive across the country ...and further.

Amen to that I love just sitting down and talking with the old timers about bow hunting way back when..  You can certainly learn alot from these elders of archery.. A heck of alot more than you see on hunting shows.. Imo we are loosing the greatest generation the World War 2 erea

On my travels around Texas I've met a few old timers who had stories that caused me to raise an eyebrow...only to find out later that not only were they true but they had toned the story down!
