No pictures but the one I broke (at full draw) I made into splinters that were later re-purposed as ashes AFTER it was used as my new curse-word tester.

Before you do take the band-saw to those old dead broken bows.Here is the tip of the day and some food for thought maybe.
There are a few guys around today with some real talent at relimbing those broken bows beleave me.
I had a chance to look at another rebuilt model last week.Numpls was here and he brought along that 1961 K Special he had new limbs put on ??? I will say this about the work done to the old bow....it was OUTSTANDING very nice looking bow (again) it looked to me like it will be around another 50 years.
I should also add Ray likes the way it shoots so well he has another 1961 KS he's getting relimbed.
But my point is before you do decide to dismember unlimb and or make a hunting camp crapper door handle out of or even relamp that old riser give it some thought.Relamp relamp I love that one bd

Here's one I had some help with as I am not a seasoned woodworker.Had a couple of broken '59 Kodiaks and thought they would make a great lamp.A friend that worked for Fred Bear in Grayling did the work and I think he did a spectacular job.I enjoy this lamp very much,especially since I was born in 1959.I call it The Little Delta Lamp.

Oh I like it. Those lamps are very nice. I've done some cool things with sheds but the few broken bows go in the trash. Have to rethink that!!

I beleave Mike at Mad Dogg Archery does the relimbingI'll ask Ray.I have a very nice 1959 Kodiak and a super nice looking 1962 Kodiak with a broken limbs.One of these days I'll have the extra dough to get new limbs put on those risers and hopfuly end up with a couple good shooters out of the deal bd

Mike at Mad Dogg no longer does repairs. I wish he did.

The Real BowDoc mentioned my '61 Kodiak Special that Mike at Maddog Archery relimbed for me a couple of years ago. I an disappointed to hear Nick report that Mike no longer is doing relimbing. I can only say that he did a wonderful job on mine, and it is a terrific bow to shoot - quick and quiet (I still have not put silencers on the string, and the comments that I get from others is about how surprised they are at how quiet it is).

I thought that the relimbing job that Mike did on my bow was the best use of a broken bow that I had seen. I am sorry to hear that he is no longer doing that work.
