The Grimes seems to be the most common Al. bow around. It's handle was wrapped in a 2 color plastic aprox. 1/4" wide. (one on the big Auction now) The Par-X had a cast handle with grooves in the sides of the limbs. The Ivanhoe from Ludington,Mi. Had a wood handle on Al. limbs. Another was a full length Al. casting with a wood handle. Their was a Al. handle bow with fiberglass limbs, and various othe Al. bows

I think most Ivanhoes had leather grips. Most Ivanhoes had a two tone laminated, maple and black riser.  There was also a company in Lansing that made one with a leather grip, if I remember correctly. The name escapes me right now, but it may come up sooner or later.

The Ivanhoe's do have a leather grip. The Par-X was made in Jackson, Mi. I do have a leather handle one, no name 30#@60" limbs taper in rapidly at handle, and real small tips, the limbs are bent at about 45 degrees aprox. 4"-5" from the tips. I guess I have 6 different models of Al. Bows.I think they also made a Ludington bow that looked like the Ivanhoe(same factory?)

Recently seen a Grimes Chief on the auction site .
Laminated glass limbs with aluminum handle wrapped with leather , double shelf. the actual rest for the arrow is a brass rod going through the handle incorperated into the shelf .
I have what I believe to be the same bow with the only differance is the limbs on the bow I have are held in place by three allen head screws
the one on the auction site used 2 screws
