Browning Wasp

I'm really enjoying shooting my Browning Wasp, it really is a smooth, fast shooter.  The handle on the Wasp just seems to fall into my hand perfectly.

The only problem is that it is 45#@28 and I'd like to get up to 50#@28.  The question I have is, do I need to look for a Browning Wasp at 50# or did Browning make other similar bows particularly in the handle/riser?

Bart, in my opinion it is more important to shoot a bow with accuracy than heavier weight. That 45# bow is heavy enough to kill any game animal in NA if properly tuned, sharp broadheads are used.
On the other hand, if you just want to move up in weight, I'm sure there is a wasp out there somewhere in 50# just waiting for you to find it. Good luck.

No disagreement.  I just know some states require 50# for Elk, and I wouldn't want to have to rule out those states when I try to do an Elk hunt.

I agree with Kenny...shoot with what you are most accurate with......

The wasp is a real sleeper.... i have two of them....both great shooters, but 1 handle is noticably larger than the other...browning made lots of different recurves......the safari, the fury, the wasp, the nomad, explorer, etc... all are great bows, but in my opinion the little wasp is one of the best shooting in the lineup.

45# to 50# is not a big move and you could accomplish that easily. I switch between these two weights all the time.

I had two almost identical Browning Wasp that I acquired from the same person. I believe they were probably purchased at the same time new and then hardly used if at all. The grip on one was larger than the other.

Did the Wasp go thru several "phases"?  I could swear I remeber a green textured handle 3pc Wasp in the early 80's.

Have you considered a Browning Safari or Nomad Stalker...I thought the cobra was close but now that I saw a Wasp again I was wrong...LOL
