? bear recurve info requested

I have a question for the Bear collectors/experts. I just bought this on the auction site. Can anyone tell me what it is exactly? I'm not familiar with the Bear takedowns. Plan is to strip it down and see what kind of shape it's in and shoot it and maybe do some bowfishing with it. What would be considered a good deal for buying this bow (hoping I didn't get ripped off). Thanks for any info you guys can share.

Matt,
It is a Take Down Hunter or Hunter Take Down however they call it. Never shot one or owned one but I'm sure someone will come along before long that has.

Thanks Jack. That's kind of what I was thinking, but the riser doesn't look like wood to me. All the Hunter T/D's I've seen were wood. I'll know more when I get it and post some follow up pics. Anyone else, please feel free to chime in.

What kind of material do you think the riser is?

I had seen that bow listed on the auction site and had thought it was a Hunter when I first looked at the pictures. It does look like a Mag riser in the close ups though. Here is another Bearcat from the completed listings.

It is in fact a bearcat takedown
I started stripping the riser this weekend and got through the first layer. Going to go at it again to get the rest off and then paint it. I'm not sure what to do on the limbs. There's a nice finish under the spray can camo.

Goo-gone will work just fine for stripping the limbs just don't leave it on too long or a light sanding. I have also heard peanut butter will work to strip the paint off the limbs. Shawn

Thanks for the reply. I used some acetone and it worked pretty well. I have to strip the rest of the paint off the riser and repaint it and I'll call it done.
