Ken -

The Rangers with the woven glass back are not really rare. I own a couple of them and have seen a number of others around over the years.

The value is generally not very high because the Ranger was always a lower end bow and there simply isn't much of a demand for them today as shooters or as collectible items. They usually change hands for some where around $100, or perhaps a bit less.

Bear finished many of the Rangers and sold them with the Bear decals and serial numbers.

I have one that has a Bear serial number on it but it never had a Bear nor Ranger decal, but rather the bow has an original Bitzenberger Water Transfer Decal on the back.

You just never know, after you ask the question the Ranger may become the hottest Collectible Bear Bow this summer...    ;)

bearbowjunky - Haven't got any PMs for some time, guess that full mail box is the reason.

copicasso - Thanks for the heads up. Just did a search and found the completed auction. It is an exceptionally nice example, which it should be for $291. The seller pretty well established the price with his starting bid at $275.

During this rough economy, I guess we have seen some high prices for many different archery items, from a $9,000 Signature bow, to a $6,900 arrow to a $3,900 broadhead. Those all make any Ranger at $291 seem like a legitimate bargain, which it really isn't.

SlowBoke - If you want to see images of one, check the completed auction 230633922704.
