I sorta' rescued this Black Warrior from the trash heap. It had a crack in the riser at the arrow shelf, and the lower tip glass was loose at the very end of the tip.
I reglued the tip with Loctite Super Glue Gel, and spread and forced Elmer's Carpenter Glue into the cracks of the riser. I clamped the whole thing and let it dry for about 48 hours. It seems to be holding well and I will shoot some arrows from it in a day or so...when I get a string made.
The Black Hawks had a unique riser twist that brought the bow to center shot without cutting out the wood itself...you will see it in the photo. Black Hawk bows were made by Cravotta Brothers Archery in East McKeesport, Pa. This one is the Warrior model. 62", 50#. It was pre-AMO (1968), so is dated to about mid 60's.
